I grew up in Langley BC but always knew that the Island would be my home. After a Bachelors of Science at UBC, an Optometry Doctorate at Waterloo, and few years practicing optometry in Victoria, I finally found my place in the Comox Valley in 2013. Since that time, I have enjoyed providing family eyecare services to our community. After identifying and working with individuals suffering from binocular vision problems, I was amazed by the potential for vision therapy to change lives for the better. I have since accumulated hundreds of hours of education on the subject and am thrilled to be able to bring this much-needed service to our region.
Outside of the office, I have 2 busy kids, 1 over-energetic dog, and 1 equally hyper husband. We love the beach, the mountains and everything in between.
College of Optometrists in Vision Development - candidate for Fellowship (FCOVD)
After graduating from UVIC with a degree in Psychology and time spent adventuring around the world, I am very happy to be back in my hometown of Courtenay. I have been working in the social service sector since 2012 and love being able to apply these skills to my work as a Vision Therapist. It is amazing to be part of a program which can have such a positive impact on individual’s quality of life and be able to witness those changes week-by-week. I was the first member to join Dr. Vinge in 2018 and have jokingly made history as "The first vision therapist in the North Island". I am midway through my formal certifications with Vision Therapy Canada.
In my spare time I am an avid knitter, sewer and outdoor enthusiast!
Vancouver Island and the Comox Valley have always been my home. I discovered my passion for Eye Care in 2016 as a Certified Optometric Assistant and am very excited to have finally found a place that allows me to build on my prior knowledge and and help others in a meaningful way. Although I've trained with Dr. Vinge, I am also midway through my formal certification as a Vision Therapist.
In the office, I am known as the organizational pro but on my off days you can find me exploring the beaches and trails with my two four legged friends: Mars and Macey!
